Product Introduction

 

Dietary chitosan oligosaccharide can enhance the immunity and antioxidant capacity of sows, improve the health status of sows, and provide a good internal environment for fetal growth and development; at the same time, it can increase the content of leptin in serum of sows and up regulate the expression of VEGFA gene mRNA in early pregnancy, which is beneficial to angiogenesis, fetal growth and survival, and improve the reproductive performance of sows.


Test Cases

52 3-4 parity sows were randomly divided into two groups: control group (basal diet) and chitosan oligosaccharide group (100 mg / kg chitosan oligosaccharide).

 

Six healthy pregnant sows were selected from each group on the 35th day of gestation. Blood was collected from ear vein and slaughtered. The number of corpus luteum, total number of fetuses, number of live fetuses, number of mummified fetuses, uterus weight, fetal weight and fetal head tail length were recorded. The remaining sows were fed until the end of delivery to investigate their effects on litter performance.

 

The main results are as follows:

1. Compared with the control group, the fetal head tail length (P 0.01), embryo survival rate (P 0.05) and viable fetal weight (P = 0.06) were significantly increased in the oligosaccharide group on the 35th day of gestation. However, there were no significant differences in the total number of fetuses, the number of live fetuses, the number of viable fetuses, the number of corpus luteum, the weight of uterus and the number of mummified fetuses.

 

2. Compared with the control group, chitosan oligosaccharide significantly increased the number of healthy offspring and birth weight (P 0.05), significantly increased the live litter weight (P 0.01), and decreased the number of stillbirths and mummies (P 0.05). However, there was no significant difference between total litter size and live litter size.

 

3. Compared with the control group, chitosan oligosaccharide could significantly increase the serum leptin content of 35 day pregnant sows (P 0.01) and 85 day pregnant sows (P 0.05); it could increase the serum progesterone and luteinizing hormone content of 35 day and 85 day pregnant sows to a certain extent, but it did not reach the statistically significant level.

 

4. Compared with the control group, chitosan oligosaccharide could significantly increase the contents of TNF - α and IgG in serum of sows on the 35th day of gestation (P 0.05), and extremely significantly increase the contents of IL-1, IgM and IgA (P 0.01). Chitosan oligosaccharide could significantly increase the content of IL-6 (P 0.05), IgG (P < 0.01) and IgA (P = 0.08). Chitosan oligosaccharide could significantly increase the serum levels of IL-10, IgG and IgA (P 0.05) and IgM (P 0.01). Chitosan oligosaccharide significantly increased the content of IgM in amniotic fluid on the 35th day of pregnancy (P 0.05), and significantly increased the content of IL-10 and IgG (P 0.01).

 

5. Compared with the control group, the chitosan oligosaccharide group could significantly increase the activity of T-AOC in serum of sows on the 35th day of gestation (P 0.05), significantly reduce the content of MDA in serum of sows on the 35th and 85th day of gestation (P 0.05), but there was no significant difference in the activity of GSH PX and SOD.

 

6. Compared with the control group, chitosan oligosaccharide group could significantly up regulate the mRNA expression of bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP2), bone morphogenetic protein-4 (BMP4), leptin receptor (OB-R), signal transduction and transcription activator-3 (STAT3), fibroblast factor-2 (FGFR2) and vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) in fetal dorsal spinal tissue (P 0.05), and up regulate the mRNA expression of leptin and VEGFA in chorionic membrane (P 0.05).
