Product Introductions

Blood lipid refers to the content of lipids in the blood. Lipids in a broad sense refer to neutral fats (glycerol and triglycerides) and lipids (cholesterol, cholesterol esters and phospholipids).

Chitosan oligosaccharide can drive lipids through several ways.

1) Chitosan oligosaccharide hinder the digestion and absorption of lipids

The lipid entering the intestinal cavity is difficult to be absorbed because it is insoluble in water. It needs to be emulsified by bile acid to turn the fat into small oil droplets, so as to expand the contact area with pancreatic lipase and facilitate the digestion of fat. Bile acids (negatively charged) produced by the liver are discharged into the intestinal cavity through the biliary tract. They are very easy to combine with chitosan oligosaccharide (positively charged) around them to form a barrier and hinder absorption. At the same time, they are discharged from the digestive tract. A large number of bile acids are consumed, thus hindering the absorption of lipids and reducing blood lipids.

2) Chitosan oligosaccharide is beneficial to cholesterol conversion

Cholesterol in human body mainly comes from food intake and self synthesis. When people talk about cholesterol, they often turn pale. They think that cholesterol is the main cause of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular atherosclerosis, so they regard cholesterol as a harmful substance to human body. However, everything has its relativity. In fact, cholesterol is also an indispensable substance in our body. It is an important material of brain, nerve, sex hormone and cell membrane. Bile acid, which is indispensable for fat digestion and absorption, is also derived from cholesterol. Therefore, the value of cholesterol should be kept in a normal range. Less influence on bile acid conversion causes dyspepsia; once excess, it will gather on the wall of blood vessels, worsen blood circulation and cause arteriosclerosis and other diseases.

Low density lipoprotein is the main carrier of cholesterol. Cholesterol is converted into bile acid in the liver, stored in the gallbladder and discharged into the duodenum, which will participate in the process of digestion and absorption of lipids. Afterwards, 95% of cholesterol is absorbed into the blood by the intestinal wall and returns to the liver, which is the so-called hepatointestinal circulation of bile acid. Bile acids in the small intestine are excreted by the combination of chitosan oligosaccharide and bile acids in the small intestine. The human body transports cholesterol from outside the liver into the liver, which is used to make bile acids, and ultimately contributes to the decrease of cholesterol and blood lipid in the body.

3) Increase the level of high density lipoprotein in the blood

Lipids combine with proteins to form lipoproteins, while LDL transports cholesterol from liver to surrounding tissues, inducing tissue sclerosis; HDL transports cholesterol from surrounding tissues back to liver. Chitosan oligosaccharide can reduce blood lipid, reduce the content of cholesterol in blood, and decrease the amount of low-density lipoprotein. The increase of high-density lipoprotein helps to prevent arteriosclerosis.
